Just a warning to all that this issue has been raised in the press (broadsheets and TV) and will almost certainly not be going away. HSE is developing new guidance on the subject but until that work is completed you can find more at www.LiPSA.org.uk (I think!) and their contribution to the Designers Guide at www.safetyindesign.org This is likely to be of particular concern to anyone working in refurbishment of old buildings or painted steelwork etc. Current testing regimes are expensive and you will need to factor this in to insurance, fees, OH&S management etc. Is this to be the next equivalent to asbestos we wonder?
