Construction Dust - An Industry Survey

Many common construction jobs can create large amounts of dust. This can present significant risks to the health of construction workers. Dust is responsible for a large number of the non-asbestos lung diseases that these workers develop. These diseases include cancer, silicosis, asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD). This CDP/IOSH survey provides an insight into issues associated with on-site dust risks and how they are controlled. The findings highlight things industry needs to address.
