How do I post a message?  To respond to a discussion which has been posted,  open the discussion and choose the reply button - your reply will go to all members by email (if they've chosen that option) as well as being added to the discussion.    To contact the originator of the discussion direct,  click into link to the person's name.   To create a new discussion use the Start a New Discussion link at the bottom of the page.

How do I stop getting too many emails? You can choose how you receive these emails by logging into the site, selecting the My Settings link on the home page and choosing one of the three email options.   Full instructions on how to do this are on the about page.

Where's My Message?   This discussion forum is moderated during normal office hours Monday to Friday.   Please be patient if your posts are not approved instantly.  We will try to post these within a reasonable timescale.

Conditions of Use for this discussion forum.

  • The Adventure Activities Network forum aims to enable discussion about adventure activities issues.  The idea is that forum members can share good practice, not use the forum as a direct "question and answer" channel with HSE. If you have a particular concern which you cannot find the answer to on our web site, more information on contacting HSE is available here: http://www.hse.gov.uk/contact/information-advice.htm#technical-advice.  If your query relates specifically to your licence, then please contact the Licensing Service directly.
  • HSE Web Communities, including the Adventure Activities Network forum are a place for constructive, helpful, intelligent, and polite conversations.  People can and will disagree, but it's important that members show respect for each other; be tolerant; and give people the benefit of the doubt.   If you are unable to keep to these guidelines, this might not be the place for you.
  • HSE reserves the right to remove offending material and ban members at any time and without prior notice for libel, defamation, actual threats, copyright abuse, or the posting of someone's personal information (eg an address or telephone number) without their permission.   We will also remove messages simply advertising products, services and web sites or discussions which are not appropriate.   We'll explain our actions to the individual concerned - and, where appropriate, let other members know.
  • If you see anything in the Forum which you believe contravenes HSE Web Communities terms of use, you can let the Group Manager know by using the link on the community home page.

Please remember that in order to use the discussion forum you must be logged in, otherwise you will not be able to see or contribute to any discussions.
