Dear Biocides active substances web community member The following active substance and product-type combinations are no longer considered to be supported in the biocides review programme: - (S)-.alpha.-Cyano-3-phenoxybenzyl (S)-2-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-methylbutyrate (Esfenvalerate) (CAS 66230-04-4) for use in insecticides (PT 18) - N-(Dichlorofluoromethylthio)-N′,N′- dimethyl-N-phenylsulfamide (Dichlofluanid) (EC 214-118-7; CAS 1085-98-9) for use in film preservatives (PT 7) - Mixture of cis- and trans-p-menthane-3,8 diol (Citriodiol) (EC 255-953-7; CAS 42822-86-6) for use in repellents and attractants (PT 19) - 1-[2-(allyloxy)-2-(2,4-dichlorophenyl)ethyl]-1H-imidazole (Imazalil) (EC 252-615-0; CAS 35554-44-0) for use in veterinary hygiene (PT 3). The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has published an open invitation, which allows interested companies to take over the role of participant for the above active substance/product type combinations. Interested companies should complete the notification procedure in Article 17 of the Review Regulation by 6 October 2017 for Esfenvalerate, Dichlofluanid and Citriodiol; and 12 October 2017 for Imazalil. Notifications should be submitted to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), via R4BP (https://idp-industry.echa.europa.eu/idp/). If no-one takes over the role of participant, these active substance/product type combinations will be subject to a non-approval decision and products containing them for the affected product types will have to be removed from the market. Details of other open invitations where all participants have withdrawn their support or the active substance has been redefined can be found on the ECHA website.
