Dear Biocides active substances web community member The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has invited interested parties to comment on proposals for new and revised harmonised classification and labelling (CLH) for a number of substances. One of these has biocidal uses as follows: 2-methyl-1,2-benzothiazol-3(2H)-one; [MBIT] (EC -; CAS 2527-66-4) - NEW An active substance used as a biocide against a wide variety of microorganisms. It has no existing harmonised classification and labelling in Annex VI. Comments are invited on all physical, human health and environment hazard classes except respiratory sensitisation and aspiration hazard classes. Public consultation lasts for 45 days. Comments should be submitted to ECHA by 1 September 2017, and not to HSE. The CLH reports are available on the ECHA website and the detailed proposals can be viewed here: I hope this is useful. Kind regards Garry Wiles Biocides active substances web community manager
